Easter OTI

Camp Patton

Much thanks to a last minute TJ max trip for my Easter outfit! I'm loving all the Cynthia Rowley they have!

Good parking, good seats plus a great message (where do you see Christ risen?) equals happy Easter morning! Eden even wore her Easter dress (backwards, ever the individual) but I was pushing it with the sandals.

I got a pedicure yesterday and thought it was so funny to see so many guys there getting mani/pedis! One even turned the tv to basketball. My kind of salon!

This is the cutest Easter ever!!

Snow Fail

Our trip to the snow wasn't exactly what we expected but that's okay. The girls are still young and have many, many years to enjoy it hopefully!

A Working Mom

Like I said in QT, being a working mom is trending in the blogosphere and on my mind a lot. So what great timing for this link-up.....

1) What do you do for work?
Administrative assistant for a financial advisor, part-time.
2) Why do you work?
The original plan was to become a fiinancial advisor but now it is to support previous clients and to provide additional income so we can afford to live in Silicon Valley.

3) Describe a typical work day.
I work three days a week from 9-3. I do computer work and speak to clients on the phone.

4) What's the best part about having a job?
I think I will list paycheck number one! It is also nice to have adult interaction. I like to solve problems and organize. It is nice to have a break from the home scene. I'm very lucky to have a flexible schedule and boss.

5) What's your least favorite part?
Sometimes it is difficult to work for someone else who has different expectations. Also, some problems arise that are difficult to find solutions which can cause some stress.

6) What would make your life easier?
Sometimes I think it would just be easier if we had an additional $2500 in income then I could stay home and pursue other things but in reality I don't know if that would really solve anything.
7) How do your children handle their mom's career?
I like knowing that I'm providing an example to them that a mom can work and be a mom at the same time even though I'm sure that has never crossed their minds. They know I work but they don't lack for anything. They never say, "Don't go to work today". When Anna makes art at preschool she will sometimes ask, "Will you hang it up in your office?"

8) Do you feel supported in what you do?
I do feel supported. So very lucky the girls are able to be with grandma while I work instead of daycare. So beyond lucky for that. My work would not be possible without the support my Mom gives.

9) What are your future goals when it comes to work/motherhood?
For now I think my long term goal is to become a financial coach and work from home. I want to help people make budgets and live within their means. Kind of like a Suze Orman. I'm not sure how I can make this happen and make money at the same time.

10) What are some tips that help you balance it all?
Supportive family is my number one tip. Also, a flexible schedule is important.

Please leave comments if you read this. It helps to know us working moms are all in this together.

Musical theatre

Today Eden and I went to see a CMT Godspell. It was Eden's first time in a theatre.
Eden, did you like the show? No
Eden, did you like the singing? No
Eden, did you like the dancing? No

She is still young, right?

7 QT Vol. II

7 quick takes sm1 Your 7 Quick Takes Toolkit!

Happy to join everyone at Conversion Diary:

1. I became very interested in reading Girl's Gone Child recent post about HELP. I read all the comments and then there were follow up blogs and I read those comments too. She also posted a video from Amy Poehler that I loved where she thanked the people that help her with her kids so she could be successful. She is so funny. Side note: we are catching up on all the Parks and Recreation episodes. I've come to the conclusion recently there is no Mom out there doing it all. There has to be compromise somewhere and every family is so different, you just need to find what works best for you.

2. Catie is super walker now. There is longer hallway in the new house and she circles around the living room and kitchen. So cute! She can crawl outside with the sisters and she loves to push Anna on the little scooter car.

3. Eden was a little grumpy on Monday morning to return to school but who isn't after vacation. Steve walked her everyday but on Thursday I had to drive her so I could take Anna to preschool and she was SO UPSET not to walk.

4. I was so happy to read that a friend of a friend is visiting my acupuncture clinic to help her with pregnancy. Sending her and all my friends affected by infertility many, many prayers and thoughts.

5. This is the time of year that Ole Miss always teases us as a bubble team for the tournament. I'm afraid it will be the NIT again for them.

6. It was so cute to read this blog post. One of the happy things to come out of the Pope's resignation. Where were you when you heard about Pope Benedict being appointed? April 2005, I was in Banff with Steve at the lovely Fairmont hotel. I was so excited to see the headline in the paper.

7. Flashback photo from February 2008. Eden was nine months old. This week she was so happy to see the daffodils again. She said "How do you spell daffodil?"
